The old Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company had a great tradition on pleasure cruising over the late 19th and 20th centuries and produced rich memorabilia associated to the leisure activities of their with ships with buff funnels.
Those three menu covers are just beautiful works of practical art used on board as menu covers, that became colectible items.
All three are from the inter wars period, when P&O introduced the first large STRATH white liners, a design that was improved over the years up to 1954-55 and the final classic P&O and Orient liners, ARCADIA, IBERIA and ORSOVA.
They were followed by CANBERRA and ORIANA, but those twofinal australian super liners were seen at the time as ultra modern revolutionary ships.
