Here in Lisbon I am probably feeling just like those Clydebank workers after QUEEN MARY resumed building work in 1934. Yes, my beloved FUNCHAL is returning to life after the saddest period in her long and successful life. It is great to go to the ship and feel her alive once more, with generators working and workers busy going along with her reconstruction.
Work on FUNCHAL slowed after July 2011 and later in December 2012 she was abandoned by her remaining crew members, as the ship had no fuel, running water or food available for the skeleton crew still onboard. And scrap merchants looked interested and taking her as granted...
Although FUNCHAL is a small ship she is great and despite all those years of suffering she still looks very attractive and beautiful...
Let's wait and see...Anyway it is really good to hear noise from her again...
