It was a great round voyage taking 45 days Lisbon to Lisbon on board the magnificent INFANTE DOM HENRIQUE, the proud flagship of Lisbon based Companhia Colonial de Navegação: Lisbon, Funchal, Luanda, Lobito, Cape Town, Lourenço Marques, Beira and back via the same ports. The first of such voyages started in Lisbon on 4 October 1961 and the next day, off Porto Santo island the INFANTE met the running mate PRÍNCIPE PERFEITO at sea returning from her second voyage.
PRÍNCIPE was the flagship of Companhia Nacional de Navegação, the other, older Portuguese shipping concern running mail and passenger ships to West, South and East Africa.
